As an artist, a painter, I welcome the opportunity to edxhibit my work while raising funds for
charitable organisations. Being an artist is often a solitary existence, and I enjoy the social
aspect of these events. It is a win/win situation: I gain more exposure for my work, and the
caritable organisation raises money for their cause.
I have been involved with many such events over the past few years. I began when I had an exhibition
of my work at Pizza Express in Darlington. I planned a fundraising event with
DAD (Darlington Disability) and we had a wonderful evening of music, food,
(kindly donated by Pizza Express) and an auction. We also charged an entry fee.
This led to further activities with the Children's Society, including a silent auction of donated
paintings at the same restaurant. I have also donated paintings to contribute to their auctions.
Another fundraising idea is to hold a social event/exhibition in a local place, for instance a
village hall, church hall or large house. One such event was held in Cotherstone Village Hall,
near Barnard Castle for Cancer Research, UK. In this case, there was a £6 entry fee which included
wine and snacks, and we were asked to donate 20% of the selling price of our paintings.
I am willing to travel throughout the northeast, and have contacts with other artists. Call me for
more information - 01325 732096, or send me an
email.
